Within the world of astrology, one operates with the concept dynamics. The three dynamics that are, are cardinal, firm and movable. Maybe you have heard talk about the three dynamics before - or also calling it absolutely no bells, and basically sounds a little strange. No matter what, in this guide you will be wiser on what is meant when talking about the three dynamics as well as how you can use this insight to understand yourself better.

In the following sections, we must look at what dynamics mean. I will explain how the dynamics can be linked to the four elements we learned about in the last article (click here, if you would like to read it first, or have refreshed what it is about). What are the three dynamics, briefly told?

As mentioned above, one employs three dynamics in astrology: Cardinal, firm and movable. You divide the twelve zodiac signs in these three dynamics, which means four zodiac signs for each dynamics.

The dynamics describe how we express ourselves in relation to the world around us how our energy is and how we respond to our circumstances.

The interaction of the dynamics with the elements 

In the last article we looked at the four basic elements - fire, soil, air and water - and learned how they are each represented by four zodiac signs that share qualities with the other characters within the same element.

Because we have just learned about the elements, it makes sense that this time teaches about the dynamics. The elements and dynamics are often coupled together, and they can advantageously be understood in the light of each other.

This means that the dynamics should not be seen as a completely different way to divide the zodiac signs, but as an addition to the elements, where we dive even deeper into understanding our own zodiac and ourselves. The dynamics and element teacher go hand in hand. Where the elements tell us what qualities the different characters have, then the dynamisms tell us how these qualities are expressed. The dynamics show us how the characters and elements develop over time.

Each dynamic contains one character from each of the four elements, and vice versa. This means that the energy is equally distributed.

It may well be that it all sounds a little complicated, and it may also be a little difficult to form a mental overview of the characters, the elements and dynamics at one and the same time. Therefore, I have made this schedule that I hope will make it a little easier:

Here you can find your zodiac sign and see what dynamics it stands below and thus attached to. For example, you are fish, you are moving, you are bull, you are firm and so on.

There are no two zodiac signs that share the same element and dynamics. For example, Aries is the only zodiac, which is both cardinal and an ing character, the water carrier is the only zodiac that is both firm and air characters and so on. Every zodiac sign has a completely unique combination of element and dynamics.

What qualities do they have three dynamics?

Now that we have got an in-depth introduction, we need to the most interesting part. We need to learn about the three different dynamics what they represent and what they tell about you.

Cardinal.

Aries, Capricorn, Weight and Cancer

Are you one of the above characters, then your dynamic cardinal. The cardinal signs are astrology initiators. They represent beginnings, which is primarily expressed by the fact that they start the seasons. While Aries starts the spring, the weight kicks autumn in progress. Cancer marks the summer solstice, and the Capricorn marks the winter solstice.

This initiative energy is also expressed by these signs being visionary. They can get an overwhelming amount of good ideas in no time, and they like when something new happens. The fixed signs are in the middle of the four seasons, and they thus represent momentum and all that takes place in the core of a project. They are hardworking, and they rarely keep working on a project before it is finished.

Where the cardinal signs are good at boosting a project, it is the fixed characters that lead them into life. The fixed characters have a sharp focus, and they love putting action behind their words. One can say that they Walker the walk.

They are skilled at putting strategic plans over projects step by step, then following these steps. Their dedication and persistence mean they like to dive deep into a project. And this is where they feel very best fit.

Movable

Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini, Pisces

The moving characters are good at letting last hand on the projects that the cardinals are good at starting and as the fixed characters are good at leading into life. The moving characters complete the projects and sprinkle some magical star dust besides them.

The moving characters thus represent endings - both on projects and seasons. The signs are at the end of the seasons and when the sun leaves one of these characters, we also leave a season. As a result, the moving signs are good at adapting and to accept things.

They are eminent to deal with unexpected turns and change, making them flexible (and moving). If a project does not go according to plan then they take moving characters it in stiff arm. They can handle the unforeseen in a very different way, and get something constructively out of any situation. This is where their magic shines through, and here they are in their proper element. The movable dynamic is also not dominant, which can explain why I have difficulty finishing things as well as dealing with unexpected turns.

I hope my own example put the explanation in perspective and will make it easier for you, dear reads, analyze how the dynamics are present (or missing) with yourself. But I personally think it can be a great help if you are on a personal and spiritual development trip, using astrology concepts (such as the dynamics) to see themselves from new angles, and get words on who you are, What one is good at and what you want to work to get better at - or accept. Self-insight and self-acceptance are both enormously important processes.

As I have mentioned in a previous article, there are of course many factors that have an impact on why we are as we are. Personally, I think both can play equal roles in our lives.
