What is a crystal?
Crystals are defined as crystals when the fundamental building blocks, i.e. their atoms, have arranged themselves in a symmetrical pattern, where their internal symmetry is reflected externally . This is not something we can see when we look at the crystal, because atoms are so small that they cannot even be seen in an ordinary microscope.
Although a distinction is made between crystals, minerals and stones in the scientific world, the three terms are used interchangeably in the metaphysical, spiritual world. This is because the intention is not to convey physical geographical or geological aspects, but to talk about the energetic world.
There are more than 4000 different minerals. All rocks and rocks are made up of minerals, and all minerals have a unique chemical composition. Minerals can be recognized by their crystal structure, their shape, their unique color, and their hardness.
Some crystals began their origin at the moment our Earth was created, while other crystals were formed much later. Crystals are part of a constant process of creation, and our planet is constantly forming new crystals deep within the Earth. Crystal development continues forever – even after they have emerged from the mountain, rock, or surface they were found on – and is influenced by the surrounding environment such as temperature, other minerals, the sun, humidity, and energies. Therefore, you may also experience that your crystals may change during their time with you.

This can be manifested by the crystal suddenly developing internal fractures, brown spots or even cracking without you dropping it. Try to notice if anything special has happened to you or if there has been a change near the crystal (e.g. a new crystal lying close to it).
When a crystal changes, it is not because it is 'bad quality' or broken. Crystals are constantly changing, and their colors and textures shape themselves according to the energies and imbalances around them. The changes are a sign of the amazing powers of crystals.
