Crystals from Peru ✶
Explore Peru's magical crystal world ✨
We have collected all our wonderful crystals from Peru here!
One of our closest collaborators is a family from Peru consisting of an elderly mother and her two sons. They have made it their livelihood to salvage mining by-products, such as Chrysocolla and Rhodochrosite, which are found in the extraction of other metals such as copper, zinc and lead.
Their uncle hand carves all the figurines we get from Peru, and it has been a great pleasure to both meet and do business with this family. It is also through this that we have learned a lot about Peru's rich history and tradition with crystals – and which has made me research and investigate a whole lot more on the subject.
You may have seen our large selection of exclusive and handpicked crystals from Peru. We get almost all of our Pyrite, Angelite, Chrysocolla, Rhodochrosite, Serpentine and Quantum Quattro from here – and more!
They are enchanting and high-vibrating, incredibly potent and truly unique in their energy. They carry an exciting story.
That's why I want to take you on an enchanting journey through Peru's magical crystal world👇🏼

Peru's history with crystals dates back thousands of years and has deep roots and a strong connection to the country's indigenous people and their culture. In the original cultures, crystals played a significant role in their beliefs and spiritual practices.
Among the Incas , who arose in the 13th century, crystals were seen as sacred and were used in various rituals and ceremonies. The Incas believed that crystals had healing properties and were used to connect them with the spiritual world.
Amethyst, Quartz, Obsidian and more local crystals were used by the Incas. They were used in spiritual ceremonies, where Inca priests used them as tools to connect with the gods and nature, and to gain guidance and insight.
Crystals were also used for healing and as part of medical treatment, including to relieve pain, cure diseases and generally promote well-being. Shamans used crystals in their medical practices and healing rituals. Crystal therapy, where shamans used various crystals to stimulate and balance the body's energy fields, was widespread along with the use of healing elixirs, where crystals were placed in liquid. They believed that the water would absorb the healing energy of the crystals and would flow into the body.
The Incas believed that crystals had healing properties and were able to influence the body's energy fields and health. They used crystals as part of their medical practices and healing rituals, known as "shamanism." Shamans were specialized healers and spiritual guides who played a central role in the healing processes of Inca society.
The Incas have also found spiritual amulets made of crystals that were supposed to protect against evil spirits, bring good luck, and promote spiritual strength. For example, amethyst, tiger's eye, and quartz were used for this very purpose.
In addition, crystals were also used by Inca priests in their astronomical observations. There are not many direct written sources about Incan astronomy, but archaeological finds and research have shown that crystals were used in this context. Crystals were presumably used as a frame of reference to mark certain astronomical events. However, there are only very few sources on the subject, and we can only guess how big a role the crystals must have played – but based on their importance in other cases and other contexts in the Inca Empire, one must draw the conclusion that it was certainly not by chance that crystals were placed there.

Looking even further back in Peruvian history, we find the Moche culture , a prehistoric civilization in northern Peru that flourished between the 1st and 8th centuries. They are known for being skilled farmers, artists, and craftsmen – with impressive ceramic art and a complex and developed society.
Also in the Moche culture we find that crystals played a significant role. Some of the most common crystals used by the Moche culture were Pyrite, Malachite, Serpentine, Lapis Lazuli, Amethyst, Turquoise and other colored crystals. The crystals were used to decorate the ceramic art, which was one of their most prominent art forms.
They inserted small pieces of different colored crystals, often in different geometric patterns or motifs. They cut recesses or holes in the pottery and filled them with crystals. The crystals were carefully chosen to reflect the religious and symbolic meanings that the Moche culture attached to them. For example, different colors were associated with different meanings: blue crystals symbolized fertility and the water element, while red crystals could symbolize power and energy.
The Moche culture had a significant influence on the subsequent Chimú culture . The Chimú culture was one of the most powerful pre-Columbian civilizations. It also lived in northern Peru, and existed between the 9th and 15th centuries, and continued many of the traditions described earlier in the Moche culture; they used crystals in their crafts, as jewelry, and for symbolic meaning.
Crystals have been a pervasive and deeply rooted part of Peruvian history, stretching back thousands of years. However, this connection to crystals has not been lost, as crystals continue to have great significance for the country's cultural heritage.
climate and geography
Peru has a very unique climate and geography that has created ideal conditions for the creation of a wide variety of beautiful, high-vibration crystals. The country stretches from the dry deserts along the coast to the high mountains of the Andes, and the lush rainforests of the Amazon. The variation in the landscape creates a wide range of climates and environments that are perfect for the formation of different types of crystals.
The coastal areas of Peru have a dry and desert-like climate, where sunshine and heat are dominant almost all year round. This environment is favorable for the formation of crystals such as Chrysocolla and Pyrite , as the dry climate helps to preserve minerals and create crystalline structures.

Chrysocolla is found especially in the southern part of the country, where there are many copper minerals – and it is precisely under these conditions that Chrysocolla is formed. It is therefore mined as a by-material for copper extraction.
Pyrite is often formed as a result of volcanic activity and hydrothermal processes, and in areas with large deposits of sulfur-containing minerals. Pyrite is mined for several reasons, but primarily to extract some of the minerals it contains such as iron or sulfuric acid, where it is used in various industries.
The Andes Mountains, which stretch through Peru, are one of the most impressive mountain ranges in the world and are rich in many different mineral deposits. The geological processes that have shaped the Andes Mountains have created a wealth of minerals and geological conditions that are ideal for the formation of crystals such as Rhodochrosite and Quantum Quattro .
The beautiful pink Rhodochrosite typically occurs in a unique combination of copper, silver, and lead deposits – and the climate and soil in the Andes Mountains are perfect for creating a beautiful red crystal (which actually also goes by the nickname “Inca Rose”).
Quantum Quattro is formed as a result of hydrothermal processes involving copper, malachite, and emerald minerals, all of which are present in this area. It consists of a wonderful combination of Shattuckite, Chrysocolla, Malachite, Dioptase, and Emerald and is immensely potent and healing in its power.
Angelite , also known as Blue Anhydrite, is a sky blue crystal found in several different regions of Peru. It is found in the areas around Ica and Lima in central and western Peru, where the geological conditions create the right conditions for Angelite to form. Angelite typically forms in limestone and gypsum rock cuttings, and the blue color is the result of inclusions of copper and other minerals.
Peruvian crystals differ from other crystals in the world with their exceptional beauty and unique color variations, making them sought-after collectibles.

Peruvian crystals come in a spectrum of colors rarely seen elsewhere. For example, Chrysocolla is known for its beautiful blue-green color, Rhodochrosite for its pink to red hues, and Quantum Quattro for its unique combination of colors such as blue, green, brown, and purple. These color variations make Peruvian crystals particularly eye-catching and attractive to collectors.
Many of the crystals from Peru have natural patterns that make them works of art in themselves. The complex structures, colors and textures in the crystals give them a unique visual appeal.
And the crystals of Peru are just SO special with their energy and healing properties, which is why the Peruvian crystals are considered powerful tools for spiritual growth, personal development and alternative healing.
As always when it comes to purchasing crystals, it is wise to think about the ethics behind it. I find it incredibly nice to know that my crystals come from a loving place – crystals remember and store information, and they carry all the energies they have encountered during their time in human hands.
It is very important to us to ensure working conditions and environmental conditions for all our crystals - this of course also applies to those from Peru.
Therefore, I will now circle back to what the whole article started with: our long-standing, good friends and partners from Peru. Together with them, we ensure that only crystals are brought home that are by-products from other mining production that are under so-called “Responsible Mining Initiatives”, which the government regulates and have entered into contracts for environmental protection, occupational safety and fair wages for the workers. In this way, we are closest to the mine and can best ensure the good energy.
