The origin of Himalayan Quartz

Himalayan Quartz, like the ones we offer, is found primarily in the Indian parts of the Himalayan mountains, where they are hand-dug at altitudes of up to several thousand meters above sea level. Ours are found at an altitude of approximately 3000 meters.

Millions of years ago, the Indian continental plate collided with the Eurasian plate. This enormous and violent geological force created the Himalayan mountain range and formed the unique conditions under which the quartz grows.

Under extremely high pressure and temperature, cracks appeared in the rock formations, where silica-rich fluids could slowly penetrate. Over millions of years, these fluids crystallized and formed the quartz crystals we find today.

What makes Himalayan Quartz unique is:

Himalayan Quartz is extracted by local miners who travel into the mountains on foot, often for several days.
